Harvey Chiles has more degrees than a thermometer and has had more careers than a temp service. A lifelong student, he holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in music and conducting from Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts, a graduate certificate in school administration from Indiana University (Bloomington, Indiana), and a doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida).

Before the age of 18, he had been a shoeshine boy, janitor, taxi cab dispatcher, door-to-door salesman, delivery man, roofer (albeit briefly), and short-order cook. He has owned a high-end cleaning and delivery company called Major Domo and is currently the owner of The HomeworkDoctor and The Inspiration Doctor.

Along the way, Dr. Chiles taught public school music, became a dean of boys, director of special education, assistant principal, and principal of urban and rural high schools. He served as the Director of Clinical Experiences and associate professor at UM-St. Louis was the founding director of the education department at Southwestern Illinois College. Dr. Chiles ended his administrative career as the Headmaster of Noblesse International School, Angeles City, Philippines.

Today he applies his varied experience and expertise in the fields of business and not-for-profit consulting, personal and organization coaching in all areas.

As the Inspiration Doctor, he believes that “Nothing happens until someone is Inspired.” Dr. Chiles is accepting clients for consultation, booking speaking engagements now, and is preparing for the publication of his first book, “Why Great Teaching Matters” in the spring of this year.

Harvey Chiles is a visionary. A futurist who believes that the only way forward in education and life is through innovation and experimentation.
